ade ishs Trio
ade ishs is
a songwriter and a pianist currently residing in
Melbourne, Australia. He is originally from Indonesia.
His playing style revolves around contemporary
jazz, classical, and meditational. Among his teachers was
Peter Ferdinandus, under whose tutelage he studied music
theory, history, and classical piano performance for 9
years. ade has recorded two solo acoustic piano albums,
Visions (2009) and New Butterfly (2010).
He has performed with Mixed Up (jazz trio, with Sandra Bogerd and Yugo Isal), Way Out West’s Dung Nguyen (jazz), Dexter & the Band (jazz, latin, ethnic, and pop), AB Trio (jazz, with Arianto Surojo and Bowie Djati), Gadsby (Pat Metheny cover band), MOU Quartet (contemporary jazz), and other bands. He is also known as a solo piano performer. Most recently, he has been a regular solo piano performer at Melbourne’s Guildford Lane Gallery.
Chelsea
Allen is an up-and-coming jazz drummer, originally from
Brisbane, now based in Melbourne. After undertaking
formal music studies in Brisbane, more than 8 years
performance experience in jazz, original and covers
music, and playing opportunities with a number of
world-class musicians in Brisbane and Melbourne, she
epitomises versatility, musicality, and a performance
that is always engaging and exciting.
Her musical résumé includes stints with: Fat Tuesday (5-piece original funk band), The Calibre Cats (10-piece neo-swing band), The QLD Conservatorium Big Band, Quorum Consensus (8-piece original hip-hop band), Natural Jazz (5-piece covers/jazz band), Backlash Brew (6-piece funk/soul covers and originals), Midnight Jazz Quartet (jazz standards), The Impermanence (jazz standards), Swinging Rendezvous (jazz manouche), plus fill-in shows for a variety of performers.
Daigo Nakai,
originally from Japan, is a jazz musician who plays both
double and electric bass. His first influence in music
was from Joe Strummer (The Clash), and he was into punk
rock. In 2003, he moved to Melbourne to start his career
and studied music at Box Hill Institute to finish his
degree. In the college, he took lessons of electric bass
from double bass player, Simon Starr, and he got into
the sound of jazz and double bass through the lessons. In
the middle of the study, 2006, he swapped his instrument
to double bass to play jazz more seriously.
He has performed in many different bands (rock, pop, jazz, and function), and also played in many recordings with various musicians in Melbourne. Currently, he plays in several bands, including Toldjah and his jazz trio playing original materials.
